During the past decade, with the proliferation of the internet and online accessibility, it has become relatively easy to obtain court information, docket listings and even case documents from the Maricopa County Superior Court. So easy, in fact, that there were complaints that it had actually become too easy to obtain almost real time information about divorce filings . In response to a concern that early access to documents could be the cause of domestic violence issues, and that some people were finding out that their spouse was filing for divorce from document preparation services who purchased lists of new filings from the court, the Superior Court in Maricopa County issues Administrative Order 2010-092, limiting access to all pleadings in family court cases for the first 45 days after the initial filing of the case. The Court is now planning to vacate the administrative order and re-open immediate public access to the divorce filings effective April 1, 2011.
